No Black Friday with The Body Shop

During Black Friday, The Body Shop counts the numbers that matter

31% of all women have been exposed to physical or sexual violence, according to a global WHO report. The frighteningly high number underscores that men's violence against women is in fact a pandemic and that we must act now. Therefore, The Body Shop chooses to interpret Black Friday in their very own way and focus on the number that matters, instead of offers and discounts. During the Black Friday week, the activist beauty brand will use their shops and digital channels to talk about men's violence against women in Denmark and in the world, in collaboration with LOKK.

By creating a visual connection between Black Friday and its classic sales strategy, with frightening statistics about men's violence against women, eye-catching posters will be visible in the windows of all The Body Shops stores and in all digital channels in Denmark between 22-28 of November.

The Body Shop and LOKK began the collaboration in the spring of 2020 as a counter-reaction to the increased violence against women and girls, which was reported both globally and locally as a result of self-isolation and lockdown during COVID-19, and which the UN has called a shadow pandemic. During Black Friday week, The Body Shop will match all customer donations to LOKK with a corresponding amount.
